The Grammar School in Nicosia, Cyprus, was founded in 1963 following Ioannis and Iro Gregoriou's successful establishment of Cyprus College in 1961. By 1966, both The Grammar School and its boarding school moved to privately owned premises near the Nicosia Airport, known as the “Gregoriou Hill.”
The school's founder, Ioannis Gregoriou, after returning to Cyprus in 1952, worked as a teacher in various secondary schools in Nicosia. Upon Cyprus gaining its independence, he founded Cyprus College, The Grammar School in 1963, and later, in 1970, the Private English Junior School. Ioannis Gregoriou dedicated 32 years of his life to elevating the education standards in Cyprus.
