School description

The Grammar School in Nicosia, Cyprus, was founded in 1963 following Ioannis and Iro Gregoriou's successful establishment of Cyprus College in 1961. By 1966, both The Grammar School and its boarding school moved to privately owned premises near the Nicosia Airport, known as the “Gregoriou Hill.”

The school's founder, Ioannis Gregoriou, after returning to Cyprus in 1952, worked as a teacher in various secondary schools in Nicosia. Upon Cyprus gaining its independence, he founded Cyprus College, The Grammar School in 1963, and later, in 1970, the Private English Junior School. Ioannis Gregoriou dedicated 32 years of his life to elevating the education standards in Cyprus.

The Grammar School is a testament to his commitment to offering a high-quality education that has benefited countless students over the years. The school's history is deeply intertwined with Cyprus's educational evolution, and it continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the academic future of its students. The school's campus, located on Gregoriou Hill near the Nicosia Airport, provides a conducive environment for learning, fostering academic excellence and holistic development.
